Facility Description:
This massive, state-of-the-art facility that spans over 2.6 million square feet across a multi-building campus. This data center is a key part of META’s global infrastructure, supporting the operations of Facebook, Instagram, and other services. The facility is designed with a strong emphasis on sustainability, being powered entirely by renewable energy, primarily from a nearby wind farm. The data center is equipped with advanced cooling systems, including a highly efficient central plant with a cooling capacity of approximately 120,000 tons, utilizing outside air and water-efficient evaporative cooling technologies to manage the heat generated by the servers. This facility exemplifies META’s commitment to energy efficiency and environmental responsibility while supporting the vast data needs of its global user base.
Timberlake & Dickson Scope:
Timberlake & Dickson provided multiple cooling towers for the central plant, as well as six (6), large Alfa Laval plate-frame heat exchangers.
Notable facts:
The Fort Worth Data Center has received LEED Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, recognizing its design and construction practices that promote energy efficiency, water conservation, and reduced greenhouse gas emissions. This project employed as many as 1,200 skilled trade workers on site at one time during peak of construction.
