Facility Description:

Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, is a state-of-the-art baseball stadium that serves as the home of the World Series Champion Texas Rangers. Completed in 2020, the stadium covers approximately 1.8 million square feet and has a seating capacity of around 40,300. The facility features a retractable roof, which allows for climate-controlled conditions, making it one of the most advanced stadiums in Major League Baseball. The stadium’s plumbing systems include a total of 190 restrooms when accounting for all areas of the facility, including public spaces, locker rooms, suites, and offices. This comprehensive total reflects the extensive infrastructure required to accommodate the needs of players, staff, and fans in such a large, modern stadium. The distribution of these restrooms across various sections of the stadium ensures accessibility and convenience for everyone in the facility.

Timberlake & Dickson Scope:

Timberlake & Dickson furnished a SyncroFlo Quadplex domestic water pressure booster system for the facility, which was custom-designed to ensure consistent, reliable delivery of domestic water to the furthest reaches of the facility. During construction, Timberlake & Dickson participated in the highly publicized “Super Flush” event. This was a critical test of the stadium’s plumbing system conducted before the facility opened to the public. During the event, all 190 restrooms, including those in public areas, suites, locker rooms, and offices, were used simultaneously by hundreds of workers and volunteers to simulate peak usage. Personnel from Timberlake & Dickson monitored the system’s performance in real-time, ensuring that it could handle the load without issues like drops in water pressure. The successful completion of the Super Flush confirmed the reliability of the plumbing infrastructure, marking a key milestone in the stadium’s readiness for major events. Lastly, Timberlake & Dickson conducted training of key personnel on operation and maintenance, providing all necessary documentation, and ensuring a smooth handover, all aimed at enhancing the facility’s operating efficiency and reliability.

Notable facts:

At the time of its completion, Globe Life Field’s retractable roof was the largest of its kind in the world, covering 5.5 acres when fully closed. The roof can open or close in about 12 minutes, allowing the stadium to host events in both open-air and climate-controlled environments, providing flexibility in varying weather conditions.

In 2020, during the global Covid pandemic, Globe Life Field hosted every game of the World Series, making it the first time since 1944 that the Fall Classic was played at a single site.
